In this time, we introduce an interview with user S, who found a job at YOLO JAPAN!
-
What brought you to Japan?
Because I wanted to learn Japanese.
I have learned about Japan in my home country and heard that it is a wonderful country, therefore I wanted to see it with my own eyes.
-
What is your current job?
I work as a cleaner at a fashion chain in Shibuya.
-
How many jobs did you apply for?
I've applied a lot!
I probably applied for about 40 jobs.
-
What is important to you in choosing a job?
It is important for me to be able to work in the morning and get transportation expenses.
I am an international student and have school in the afternoon, therefore I looked for a job where I could work in the morning.
I also choose a place where I could get transportation expenses because Japan is an expensive place to live.
-
What did you have in mind when you made your self-introduction video?
I was embarrassed at first, but I had to reshoot many times in order to be called for an interview.
In the video, I talked about my hobbies: tennis, anime, and manga!
-
What was the most difficult part of looking for a job or applying for a job?
I had never been interviewed in Japanese before, which made my first interview very difficult.
But I was not too nervous after the second time.
-
How many days a week do you work?
I work 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.
-
Are there any other foreign staff?
I often work alone, so I don't know the details.
But, I have worked with Mongolians and Malaysians, so I believe there are foreigners from Asia working there.
-
Have you ever had trouble communicating at work?
It's just a simple conversation, so there's not much to worry about.
I use a translation tool when I find it difficult to have a conversation.
-
What is your favorite part of your current job?
I think it's good that the salary is high and the work is easy.
It was so easy that I was able to learn the job in a week!
