Registering your residence card
Registration of your residence card is required to use YOLO JAPAN's services.
By registering your residence card, you will be able to use various services that support your life in Japan, such as applying for jobs, SIM cards, and rental property search.
Things to prepare in advance
Residence card
You will need to photograph the card itself and to enter the information listed on the card.
Enter basic information on My Page
In order for us to screen your application by comparing the basic information you have registered on My Page with the information on your residence card, you are required to register your basic information.
If you have not yet registered the information, please click here to do so.
How to register your status of residence
1. Access the status of residence registration page
After logging in to YOLO JAPAN, please go to Top Page > My Page > Change User Information > Status of Residence Registration Page.
2. Register your residence card information
Register the information listed on your residence card.
Please use the reference image as an example to see which information goes where.
A: Status of residence type B: Status of residence date of expiration C: Residence card number D: Name as it appears on your residence card
Photographing your residence card
Please refer to the following images and photograph your residence card with any clear case, etc. removed.
Please note that you cannot apply with a photocopy of your residence card or saved file.
From a computer, you can select "Select File",
and from a smartphone, you can select "Photo Library", "Take Photo or Video", or "Select File".
Please take photographs of the front and back of your residence card
Take photographs of both the front side and back side of the card.
Please make sure that all of the information on the front and back sides of the card is visible, and that your card fills the screen.
- The information on both the front and back sides of the card can clearly be seen
- The information on the residence card cannot be read due to a reflection
- The photo is out of focus and unclear.
Please take a photo of your face and the front of the card together.
Please take a photo as shown in the sample without a hat or mask on
so that you and your residence card are clearly visible. When holding the residence card in your hand, please be careful not to cover up the photo with your fingers.

- The information on the card is covered by a finger
- Only the face is visible
Please take a photo of the thickness of the residence card and the information on the card together
Tilt the card with the front of the card facing the camera and photograph the thickness of the card. At this time,
take the photo at an angle that shows both your face and the thickness of the card.
- Both the thickness and the front of the residence card are clearly visible
- The front of the residence card cannot be seen
- The front or back of the card is shown straight on

Have you registered your basic information?
In order for us to screen your application by comparing the basic information you have registered with YOLO JAPAN with the information on your residence card, you are required to enter the basic information for your account registered with YOLO JAPAN. Is the address registered in Basic Information the same as the address on your residence card?
If the address in Basic Information does not match the address on your residence card, you will need to re-apply.
Please check the postal code, city, street number, building name, and room number again.
Are the photographs taken according to the sample images?
All photos submitted must be taken exactly as shown in the sample images.
Please take care to avoid blurred images and light reflections.
Do you already have an account with a registered residence card?
In principle, each person can have only one account.
If you already have an account where you have registered your residence card, please log in to that account and update your information to use it.

When your status of residence application is completed, an email will be sent to your email address registered with YOLO JAPAN acknowledging receipt of your application.
The screening result will be sent to you by email within one business day. If your application is incomplete, you will need to reapply, so please be sure to check the result of your application. Next, let's take a look at our job listing search function!
