TASTE THE WORLD® “Tastes of the World” for you
The founder, Victor Bergeron, has been exploring global cuisines since he was a merchant (trader). Always ahead of his time, he pioneered the style called “fusion cuisine” by offering Chinese cuisine, which was rarely eaten in America in 1937, along with continental (European style) cuisine.
Even after that, his inquisitive mind sought new flavors, and continued to gather recipes to take back to the store through the so-called medieval “spice route.” Thus, his original style of cooking became representative of “fine dining” for decades thereafter. Trader Vicks continues to inherit that tradition, and while taking inspiration from cuisines from around the world, such as the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Asia, and Japan, fusion (fusion) them, and continues to pursue innovative menus.
