WA-Project TAISHI: Holding the first-ever public votive calligraphy training session in Japan
The event will be held at YOLO BASE, the inbound work training facility for foreigners, with the aim of gathering diverse participants
With a wish for peace and an end to the coronavirus pandemic, YOLO BASE (Naniwa-ku, Osaka) will be hosting Wa-Project TAISHI's votive calligraphy training session on August 10-11, 2020.

WA-Project TAISHI practices votive calligraphy as part of their mission to spread the "WA Spirit" inspired by Prince Shotoku, and for the first time, they have decided to hold a training session that is open to the public. They aim to spread this art to more people, and by holding the event at YOLO BASE, the inbound work training facility for foreigners, they hope for the "WA Spirit" to reach a diverse group of people.

YOLO JAPAN hopes to support diversity that goes beyond borders and culture by inviting foreigners living in Japan to participate in this training session, and sharing the feedback from their experience of Japanese culture with WA-Project TAISHI.
This event has created an opportunity for YOLO BASE to grow as an environment for both Japan and foreign countries to experience and share their culture.

A group predominantly composed of calligraphers and artists who make efforts both in Japan and overseas to promote peace and share Japan's "WA Spirit." The "WA" in their name stands for peace and the Japanese spirit. "TAISHI" comes from "Shotoku Taishi (Prince Shotoku)," and represents a strong will, as well as an ambassadorto share peace and love from Japan to the rest of the world. They began their activities in November 2014, to commemorate the origin of "WA Spirit," Prince Shotoku's Seventeen-article Constitution, being recorded in the Memory of the World register. In Kansai, they have carried out their activities at Osaka Castle, Shitennoji, Mount Koya, Mount Hiei, Nakayama-dera, Heian Shrine, Kashihara Shrine, and the Jewish Community of Kansai.
